UPDATE ON RUBEN ROCHA

May 23, 2011

In March we shared that Dr. Ruben Rocha, superintendent of World-Wide Missions in Bolivia, was in critical condition and facing emergency open-heart surgery. We are glad to report that the procedure was performed as well as a follow-up surgery to correct a minor problem, and that Dr. Rocha is now recovering at home. The doctors say that he is making good progress, as expected. It will take some time, however, before he can be active again directing the medical clinic in Viacha. Pray for Dr. Rocha during this time of recuperation.

This was a major unexpected expense, and WWM has helped with the costs as much as possible. Will you help us so that we can finish paying for the surgeries? A balance of $15,000 is still needed to cover costs of both surgeries.

Dr. Ruben Rocha is one of our World-Wide Missions’ key leaders, heading up 14 churches in Bolivia and a very active medical clinic at Viacha. It is the only medical facility available to over 50,000 people in the area. Last year he and his team of doctors and nurses treated 24,546 patients, almost half of them children. For many years Dr. Rocha has given himself unselfishly to save the lives of others—now we must pull together to save his.

Please help us! You may give online right now. Use gift designation “Emergency Relief” and note “Rocha Surgery” in the comments section, and we will make sure it goes toward this urgent need. God bless you for caring and giving!
